We're just one week away from the Probability Fair!! All the talk of a snowy February had me a little worried, but the weather looks great for next Thursday!! Come on out and have some fun taking a chance on our probability games!!
Mrs. Day's fifth grade class looked at different materials to determine if they were transparent, translucent or opaque. What an "enlightening" experience!

Mr. Berger's 5th graders assembled solar cars (pitsco cars from the Airfest field trip)! Today's abundant sunshine was perfect to test them out!
Mrs.Bridges' 1st graders did Fun Friday! Shaving cream what comes before? What comes after?
BAM members practiced brushing their teeth after getting hygiene kits. This was after students heard a presentation from Jeff Say, Manager of Community Engagement for UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center.
AGR 3rd graders are learning about water conservation. Ms.C's class is trying to clean up polluted water and help Sammy Salmon out as she travels up the river.
Congratulations to our 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Math 24 participants. Players practiced to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all numbers on the card to get to 24.
Our finalists will go to Floyd T. Binns for the county competition on March 14th at 5:45pm. Come cheer them on!

Mallory Grady, Farm to School associate from the Rappahannock Rapidan Regional Commission, visited AGR and delivered sweet potatoes for students to try. Here are some 1st graders enjoying the program's goals of increasing equitable access to fresh, healthy, Virginia-grown food.
AGR P.E. teacher Mr. Downs recognized January's P.E. Students of the Month today. These students showed exceptional effort in P.E. and earned a certificate and bulldog water bottle. Congratulations to these students!
Be sure to mark your calendar for the second annual AGR Probability Fair. This is a FREE event for AGR families. It's February 22, 2024 from 5pm - 6:30pm. (You're welcome to, but you don't have to stay the whole time; it takes about 20-30 minutes to play all the games.)
Each student gets a baggie of tickets when they come in. They are allowed to play each of the 20 games one time. Probability ranges from certain to win, to impossible to win!!

The 4th grade Q3 writing prompt is presented as a persuasive essay to convince someone to try a new food. Emma Beyer, originally from Wisconsin, jumped on the opportunity to convince her teacher, Mrs. Birch, and her classmates to try a KRINGLE. None of them had ever heard of the treat. Emma went into great lengths to teach the class about it. She even stood in front of the class and gave a short speech on why they should try it.
If you do not know, a Kringle is the "state pastry of Wisconsin" and is essentially a really big danish-style pastry. Today is Emma's birthday, and her class is celebrating with a HUGE, straight from Wisconsin, Kringle! It's delicious!
