Proclamation issued by the Culpeper County School Board and signed by Division Superintendent Anthony S. Brads, Ed.D. and School Board Chair Barbara L. Brown, recognizing October 2024 as VSBA Bullying Prevention Month. The proclamation highlights the growing problem of school bullying in the U.S. and Virginia, citing statistics on bullying, absenteeism due to bullying, and the impact of cyberbullying. It emphasizes the importance of awareness and discussion among parents, students, teachers, and administrators and references the Virginia School Boards Association’s model policy to encourage positive behaviors and eliminate bullying. Tonight, the School Board recognized Eastern View High School graduate Grace Mimnaugh for 4th Place in Long Jump and 6th Place in Triple Jump at the 2024 VHSL Class 4 State OutdoorTrack Championship. Grace is continuing her academic and athletic career at James Madison University, so her mother accepted the award for her tonight. Congratulations Grace!
