The Culpeper County School Board held its annual reorganization meeting on January 13, 2025, at the Culpeper County Administration Office. During the meeting, Barbara Brown was elected to continue as Chair of the School Board for the 2025 calendar year, while Elizabeth Hutchins was elected to continue in the role of Vice Chair.

In addition to electing leadership, the Board approved several key organizational items, including:

  • The appointments of Neal Deane as Clerk and Sara Morand as Deputy Clerk.

  • Michelle Metzgar as the Superintendent's designee to attend meetings in the Superintendent’s absence.

  • The designation of Neal Deane, Russell Houck, and Robert T. Hauman, III, as signatories in the Superintendent’s absence.

  • Adoption of the CCSB meeting calendar, committee schedule, and VSBA Code of Conduct for School Board members.

  • Approval of the CCSB Bylaws and Rules of Procedures.

 The meeting also featured presentations and recognitions, including:

  • A presentation by Ladona Gorham, Director of Mountain Vista Governor’s School (MVGS), providing an update on MVGS programs and initiatives.

  • Recognition of Kyndall Healy, a Culpeper County High School student-athlete, for being named to the VHSL Class 3 All-State Field Hockey Second Team as a defender. Kyndall was supported by her coach, Cathy Uribe.

  • A report from Floyd T. Binns Middle School Principal, Ms. Andrea Kilby, highlighting key updates and achievements at the school.
