Culpeper County Public Schools is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of its students who earned national AP Scholar awards for their exceptional performance on the 2024 Advanced Placement (AP) exams. These students have demonstrated remarkable dedication and academic excellence, distinguishing themselves among the top students nationwide.

The AP Scholar Awards are presented annually by the College Board to students who achieve high scores across multiple AP Exams. The awards are categorized into three levels:

  1. AP Scholar: Awarded to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.

  2. AP Scholar with Honor: Awarded to students who achieve an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more exams.

  3. AP Scholar with Distinction: Awarded to students who achieve an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.

Culpeper County High School (CCHS)

  • AP Scholar with Distinction: Elizabeth M. Wynkoop

Graduated Students:

  • AP Scholar: David L. Holland, Matthew R. Lynch

Eastern View High School (EVHS)

Current Students:

  • AP Scholar: Jayden Nuble, Abigail Shears

  • AP Scholar with Distinction: Emilia Hoover, Peter Nenyuk

Graduated Students:

  • AP Scholar: Ximena Hernandez, Siva D. Krishnan, Ayanna V. Martinez, Kaz Norrod, Apalapua Phillips

  • AP Scholar with Honor: Ian M. King, Sarah L. Meyers, Howard A. Washington

In addition to their AP Scholar achievements, four students have been recognized as Commended Students in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. Matthew Ezrre (CCHS), Emilia Hoover (EVHS), Peter Nenyuk (EVHS), and Ellie Wynkoop (CCHS) earned this distinction by scoring within the top 2-3% nationwide on the PSAT/NMSQT. Each received a Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

CCPS Division Superintendent Dr. Tony Brads expressed his pride in these students’ accomplishments, stating, “Earning an AP Scholar designation is no small feat. These students have shown exceptional commitment to their education and serve as an inspiration to their peers. We are excited to celebrate their success and look forward to seeing their future achievements.”

The Culpeper County Public Schools community congratulates these students on their well-deserved honors.  The School Board recognized these students at their November and December meetings.
