Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) is thrilled to announce that Sycamore Park Elementary School Assistant Principal Amy Cackowski has been honored with the prestigious CCPS Spotlight Award.
Superintendent Dr. Tony Brads made a surprise visit to Sycamore Park Elementary this week to present the award in front of a cheering crowd of students gathered in the gym. Cackowski, taken completely by surprise, was recognized for her outstanding leadership and vision in organizing the CCPS Back to School Bash.
What began as an idea for a small event involving a few elementary schools quickly grew into a division-wide celebration that united the entire Culpeper community. Thanks to Cackowski’s initiative and dedication, the Back to School Bash became a landmark event, providing families with school supplies, services, and a day of fun to kick off the new school year. She says that she is already working on the plans for next year.
Cackowski was nominated for her creativity in conceptualizing the event and her remarkable leadership in bringing it to life, making a lasting impact on both students and the community. She shared that she is grateful for the amazing support of the entire community who came together to make the event possible. Community sponsors included backpack and school supply donations from the Culpeper Police Department, Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office and Human Services; Danny’s Moonbounce, Little Caesars Pizza, I & L DJing and Event Production, Kash Imprints, and State Climb. There were also hairstylists and barbers from Culpeper Cosmetology School, Ventura, Successful Hands Barbershop, House of Cuts Barber Studio, stylist Ashley Warmus, Rob Paul Barber Studio, Dolls and Flaws, Fairy Hair from CTEC students, and Adri’s Face Painting.
