Culpeper COunty Public Schools - thank you Martin's and the Culpeper Community

Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Culpeper community for their generous contributions to eliminate food insecurity among CCPS students. The community's participation in the Feeding School Kids initiative, hosted by MARTIN'S store located in Culpeper, has significantly bolstered efforts to ensure no child goes hungry.

Ricky Perry, Manager of the Culpeper MARTIN'S store, joined CCPS Division Superintendent Dr. Tony Brads, Food Service Director Greg Beamer, ESL and Family Resource Center (FRC) Director Karie Lane, and CCPS Family Engagement Liaison, Carlene Tilson, to share the exciting news of the total donation raised through the initiative. Perry expressed his pride and gratitude for the community's involvement in this crucial endeavor.

"We are honored to play an active role in our community by partnering with Culpeper County Public Schools to fight hunger," remarked Perry. "No child should be hungry or wonder where their next meal is coming from. Through our Feeding School Kids initiative, The GIANT Company and our customers raised more than $1.5 million to combat childhood hunger throughout local public school districts in the communities we serve."

The initiative encouraged customers to round up grocery purchases to the nearest dollar and convert CHOICE points into donations. The community responded overwhelmingly, demonstrating unity and compassion to support children in need. The GIANT Company further amplified the impact by matching the first $100,000 donated by customers.

"Thanks to the school administration, teachers, program coordinators, and our dedicated and local customers, today I am pleased to announce Culpeper County Public Schools will receive a donation of $8,185," Perry announced proudly. "We can't wait to see these funds in action and put us one step closer to ending hunger in our communities."

On behalf of The GIANT Company, Perry extended gratitude to everyone who contributed to bringing this initiative to fruition and wished the community a safe and happy spring season.

CCPS remains committed to ensuring the well-being of its students and is profoundly grateful for the steadfast support of the Culpeper community in this endeavor.
