board member holding award with Superintendent

At the December 11, 2023 meeting of the Culpeper County School Board, the Board issued a resolution to recognize outgoing School Board member Anne Luckinbill who has been a member of the Culpeper County School Board for sixteen years.

Luckinbill has represented the Salem District on the Culpeper County School Board since January 1, 2008.  She has four children who graduated from Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) during her time on the School Board.  When she started, her youngest son, who is now a sophomore in college, was not even in kindergarten yet.

During her tenure on the School Board, Mrs. Luckinbill served as Chair for one year and Vice-Chair for four years. She served on numerous committees throughout her term including the CCSB Administration Committee  for 15 years, the Career Partners Board  for 12 years, the Gifted Advisory Council for 8 years and the CCPS School Health Advisory Committee for 6 years.

As a board member, Mrs. Luckinbill represented the educational needs of all children and showed a continuing and tenacious interest in quality programs, business-community partnerships including Career Partners, gifted education, and the importance of facility maintenance and adequate space planning for Culpeper County schools. She was an advocate for the safety of the students and staff and a passionate supporter of the Culpeper Technical Education Center (CTEC).

At Monday’s meeting, Board Chair Pat Baker read the resolution, then Mrs. Luckinbill shared a few words.  She thanked everyone that she has worked with through the years in this role.  She also shared that supporting the students and staff of CCPS and the relationships she has made along the way have been the most rewarding.

As it states in the resolution, “the Culpeper County School Board and the Superintendent of Schools join the community in expressing their sincere gratitude to Mrs. Anne Luckinbill for her willingness to serve on the School Board, for her dedication to the betterment of our school division, and for the other special gifts she brought to the Board with her service.”
