OBrien

O'Brien, Donovan Ed.D.

Executive Director of Operations

Dr. O'Brien began his career in education in 1999. Prior, he worked for a major auto insurance company where he worked as a member of the greenhouse team that overhauled the former Unix system with a new GUI policy management system. A veteran of the Navy (1990 - 1994) and Virginia Army National Guard (1994-2005), he served as a Machinist Mate on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) and later, a Combat Engineer (21B). As a member of the 28th Engineer Brigade, he worked with partners in the implementation of a battle tracking, web-based asset manager. A history teacher with the Department of Corrections (1999-2001), his additional duties included managing the local Windows NT network. He began teaching with Culpeper County Public Schools in 2001 in World History and US History. In 2005, he completed his Master's of Science Degree in Instructional Technologies and would later work as an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher. In 2014, Donovan moved to central office as a curriculum specialist for multiple subjects. He completed his Education Specialist Degree (2015) and Gifted Certificate in 2016 when assigned as the gifted coordinator for the division. He completed his doctorate in 2021 in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.). Dr. O'Brien is available at 540-825-3677 X3122.

Mr. Bagley

Bagley, Steven

Director of Transportation

Mr. Bagley has 5 years’ experience in public education transportation in Falls Church City and Loudoun County. He has served in a variety of roles in the transportation department including bus driver, dispatcher, Medicaid and ESY program assistant and most recently Transportation Coordinator. He holds a CDL Class B license.

In 2012, Mr. Bagley retired from the United States Navy after twenty years of service. During that time, he served as a Hospital Corpsman, Instructor, Human Resource Analyst, Supervisor/Office Manager and a Global Policy and Program Manager. Mr. Bagley holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religion/Ministry from Luther Rice University, a Master’s degree in Leadership from Luther Rice College (name changed to college), and an AAS in Interior Design from Tidewater Community College.

Gene Beamer

My name is Gary Beamer, but I go by Gene. I am the Technology Director for Culpeper County Public Schools. In this role, I am responsible for the oversight of the division's network and software entities. I have been with Culpeper County Public Schools since 2007, where I started as a Network Tech. My wife, Sarah, currently works with Culpeper County Public Schools as the lead school Psychologist. We have two daughters who attend CCPS schools. When I have free time, I enjoy tinkering with just about anything and anything with JEEPS !! The technology department can be reached at 540-829-2040.

Greg Beamer

Beamer, Greg

Director of Food Service

Mr. Beamer has been with the school division for more than 22 years. He has 30 years of experience in food management with a B.A. from Virginia Tech in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. His hobbies include metal detecting, fishing, and anything outdoors! Greg is married to Michele and has twin boys, Trevor and Tanner. His family loves their pet Corgis. Doug Robson

Director of Facility Services

Doug has been with Culpeper County Public Schools for 16 years in facilities, 10 as Assistant Director and 6 as the Director. He has a combined service of 31 years in public education. Mr. Robson considers it a privilege to serve for the school division he himself graduated from as a lifelong resident of the county.

In his early years, Doug accomplished more than just running facilities. He volunteered for the school division and seized on opportunities to work with students as a coach. These included football, basketball, and lacrosse at many levels (Varsity and Junior Varsity). His children graduated from Culpeper schools, but now that they are grown, you will find him fishing, hunting, gardening, or traveling with his wife during his free time.
