painted rocks on a table

Students at Phoenix went into town on November 4th, to place the kindness rocks they created last month under the creative eye and guidance of Art Teacher, Meroe Dawson. The project was an effort to put action to the lesson students learned through September’s Suicide Prevention Month and October’s Bullying Awareness Month; words matter. Each rock was carefully designed and painted by Phoenix students with encouraging words and a number was placed on the bottom of each to help identify each students’ creation. A label was also affixed that said: “We hope this kindness rock from Phoenix AE finds you well. Please let us know the number of the rock you found. ctoler@ccpsweb.org.” By doing this, we hope to be able to connect the impact on the community with the individual student artist safely by using the administrative email of Mr. Toler.
