On Monday, January 9, 2023, the Culpeper County School Board adopted a resolution that proclaims February 2023 as Career and Technical Education (CTE) month. This corresponds to National Career and Technical Education Month celebrated across the country.

The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE)’s website explains, “Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, is a public awareness campaign that takes place each February to celebrate the value of CTE and the achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.”
Culpeper County Public Schools’ (CCPS) CTE programs will have a schedule of exciting events throughout the month of February to highlight and celebrate our programs. Included in those events is National FCCLA Week from February 13 to 17 and National FFA Week February 19 to 26 at both high schools. The Marine Corps JROTC will take a trip to the Marine Corps Museum and the ESquared classes will visit the PATH Foundation.
Also, the Culpeper County High School (CCHS) school-based enterprise “Devils Depot” school store will celebrate the month with exciting give-aways and Eastern View High School (EVHS) will be opening its school store for the first time. The EVHS store will be called the “Storm Seller” and will open with a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration. These are just two examples of CCPS school-based enterprise, which is a key component of career and technical education.
