Thanks to a grant from Culpeper Schools the AGR esports club kicked off today. Mario kart was the game of choice. Next week is super Mario Brothers U deluxe.
On Friday, AGR 1st Graders visited Ferry Farm, AKA the George Washington Boyhood Home Site or the Ferry Farm Site, where George Washington spent much of his childhood. The site is located in Stafford along the northern bank of the Rappahannock River, across from Fredericksburg.

Today, Mrs. Sheads' 5th graders showed convergent boundaries, and made mountains using graham crackers to represent land plates, and icing as the mantle. It was a sweet success!
Mrs. Bridges' 1st graders worked with Mrs. Marini today to experiment with red, yellow, and blue to make new colors!
AGR 5th Grade ACE students working with Mrs. Marini are on the next step of their Food Truck project - creating an advertisement via Google Sites. This meant Mr. Ortman came in to discuss components of building a Google site. Hustle and Heart set us apart!
AGR 3rd Graders in Ms. Ciccarone's class (followed soon by all 3rd Grade classes) worked collaboratively at a math review breakout, solving clues in rounding, patterns, and subtraction. All teams were successful in the timed activity. Great job Bulldogs!
Each student in Mrs. Sheads' 5th Grade class got a name badge with a specific place that they had to round their decimal to. They had to introduce themselves, and ask their new friend to round their 5 digit number to the specific place and then trade numbers. Great job!!
Students in Mr. Hallett’s class worked collaboratively to review benchmark 1 skills. Give these problems a try and see if “you’re smarter than a 5th grader!”
Today, Mrs. McFarland's 1st Graders visited Mrs. Marini’s room to work on mixing colors. Meanwhile. Mrs. Boldridge's students found buried treasure on the playground!

Some of Mrs. Birch's 4th graders successfully tested their egg drop designs today - the true test from the 10 foot ladder is next, before our final drop from the CCPS bucket truck in November. This activity is also being done by Mr. Hallett's 5th graders.
At our book fair last Thursday, this Barbie got lost looking at all the amazing books. Despite her smile, she has been desperately looking for her owner.
