To celebrate public education and honor the individuals working to ensure that every student receives a quality education, Culpeper County Public Schools (CCPS) would like to say thank you to all of our employees. Included here is a list of a variety of ways that we show our gratitude.
American Education Week - Donuts for Schools
During the week of November 18 – 22, 2024, all schools and departments received donut deliveries to their school in honor of American Education Week.
Attendance Bonus
Any full-time employee attaining perfect attendance from July 1 to December 31 will earn a bonus of $250; any full-time employee attaining perfect attendance from January 1-June 30 will earn a bonus of $250. (Perfect attendance is defined in CCPS Policy GCBD – BR1.)
Bus Driver Referral Bonus Program
CCPS will pay $1,000 to both the new driver applicant and the employee who refers them to CCPS. The referring applicant must provide employee information on the initial employment application or inform us before training begins to be eligible for the bonus.
Tuition Assistance
CCPS encourages teachers and support staff to engage in job related professional development to enhance the standard of services provided. Employees who pursue professional development activities will be reimbursed, per school fiscal year, 90% of the tuition cost per course with a maximum of three courses per calendar year. Please see School Board Policy GCL-BR1 and/or the Tuition Reimbursement Form for more information.
Teacher of the Year / Classified Employee of the Year Program
Every year, one teacher and one classified employee is nominated and selected as a Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year at each school/work location. Each of these individuals are interviewed by a panel of select retirees, previous winners, and community members for the distinguished honor of CCPS Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year.
Employee Recognition Program
CCPS recognizes all full-time employees for their service to the division every 5 years. Employees receive a gift commensurate with their years of service. In addition, employees with 30 years or more are recognized at a School Board Meeting.
