About Us
Phoenix Alternative Education program serves students in grades 6-12 whose life circumstances may require a smaller school environment, flexible scheduling or time outside the traditional school setting to thrive. We also work with students seeking their GED through our HSE Program.
Phoenix offers credit- bearing courses leading to a high school diploma.
We have students in our program:
who may need a flexible or extended program to accommodate their work or family requirements
who are trying to catch up or get ahead on credits
who are returning to finish courses to earn a diploma
who are administratively placed by Culpeper County Public Schools through a disciplinary process
Placement in Phoenix Alternative Education
We serve students from Culpeper County High School, Eastern View High School, Culpeper Middle School and Floyd T. Binns Middle School.
Students come to our program from these schools. No student directly enters the programs. All requests to be in the Phoenix Alternative Education program should be discussed with the school counselor at the base school to determine if it is the most suitable path.
Each year, there are a limited number of applicant slots offered.
