CTE in Culpeper County Public Schools
Culpeper County Public Schools has a goal of opening a new Career and Technical Education School located adjacent to the Germanna Community College, Culpeper Daniel Technology Center, in August 2020.
The new school will provide enrollment opportunities for 10th - 12th graders who seek to focus on specialized training and workplace readiness skills. Students will attend half a day at their home school (either CCHS or EVHS) and half a day at the CTE School.
Students will graduate with an industry credential and be prepared to enter directly into the workplace or to pursue further education and training after high school. Current courses at the high schools that will prepare students for CTE specializations include CTE electives in: agriculture, business and information technology, family and consumer sciences, health occupations, marketing, technology education, and trade and industrial education. Please see your school counselor for assistance in choosing classes to ensure you have completed the recommended coursework to prepare students for a technical specialization at the new CTE School.
The planned courses of study include Automotive Technology, Cyber-security, Medical Technician, Physical and Occupational Therapy, Emergency Medical Technician, Building Trades - HVAC, Masonry, Carpentry, and Electrical.
